As it was a rainy day, the wedding party was prevented from making use of the magnificent surrounds of this Eltham Church. However as all photographers know, the quality of the light is often much better than on bright sunny days and so it turned out to be.

There was certainly no doubt about the quality of the company. A great day was had by all, and clearly by the members of the club pictured here.

Only one camera on display, or is it two!. Must be a first for club photos of Rosanna which are normally positively bristling with them. Well, the forthcoming album should be worth waiting for. Just look at the confidence of the talented duo in the foreground who are responsible for it. (the ones with with the camera gear that is!)

Rosanna takes the opportunity to again wish the Bride and Groom many years of happiness together, wherever they choose to live! May the joys of marriage not reduce the joys of photography (too much).

News

Wally announced success of a member with prints in Lismore Photographic competition, receiving a 1st, 2nd and Highly Commended, congratulations!!!

Guest Speaker

Barbara brought a number of International AV’s, to show club members the variety of styles in this medium. Barb chose AV’s from Documentary and Theme sections. The quality of these AV’s was evident, and in particular their ability to ‘move us’-there were few dry eyes in the house with a couple of very emotional documentary style AV’s.

Members asked Barb numerous questions, including what judges might look for in AV’s, guidance and preparation for competition. She suggested members to read the guidelines and rules on the VAPS website.

Barb did acknowledge the great success the club has had in the Music, Poetry or Song category in AV competitions.

Next meeting night 17/11/11-Roy Porter Trophy and Srewball Award
